| Detroit Michigan Built on an estimated nineteen native American burial mounds, Fort Wayne, in the city of Detroit, Michigan, has a history of hauntings and paranormal experiences. Starting as Fort Detroit, this fort and its surrounding star fort land was built in the very early 1700s. Included in its history is the War of 1812 between the States and Canada. Having been occupied by both the British and the Americans, haunted Fort Wayne nver saw active battle. The barracks buildings have been used as a hospital for vets. Items have been mysteriously relocated and/or displayed.
